Aberfeldy Golf Course and Strathtay Golf Course
With stunning views, incredible landscapes and impressive backdrops, it is no surprise that Perthshire has many incredible golf courses that make the most of the environment and natural beauty of the land. Just a short drive from Chraggs is one of the most beautiful golf clubs in Highland Perthshire, Aberfeldy Golf Course.
Aberfeldy Golf Course is a nine-hole golf course. The golf course has all the amenities you need from trolley, club and buggy hire to catering, a welcoming clubhouse as well as showers and changing rooms. However, it is the views of Aberfeldy Golf Course which makes it so popular, while the scenic parkland course makes it suitable for all ages and golfing abilities.
The golf course has a long history. In fact, the golf club itself was founded in 1895. However, the course that is enjoyed today was opened in 1995 as part of the centenary celebrations. The course has a par of 68 with 5283 yards. It is an attractive course, with great views of the River Tay as well as the surrounding hill scenery.
As well as Aberfeldy Golf Course, you may want to explore further delights at Strathtay Golf Course. Strathtay Golf Course is considered a hidden gem of a golf course in the middle of Highland Perthshire and only a short drive from Chraggs. The course at Strathtay was originally laid out by Captain Steuart of Ballechin in 1909. To this day, the course is relatively unchanged apart from the addition of nine more tees and a new layout that celebrates the history of the course and the local area.
Strathtay Golf Course readily welcomes visitors who not only enjoy the golf on what is usually a quiet and peaceful course. The nearby village is also worth visiting with its Victorian conservation, quaint village shops and an irresistible award-winning chocolatier, the perfect treat after a game on the green.
